Alpaca Walking Tour & Natural Dye Experience
Join us for an unforgettable full-day tour that begins with a pick-up from your hotel in Cusco at 7:30 am. We’ll take a scenic 1.5-hour drive to the starting point of our hike, where our local alpaca owner will be waiting to introduce you to the fascinating history of Alpaca Walking Tour Our experienced guide will also provide you with important safety information and tips for a successful walk through the Sacred Valley.
During the 3-hour hike, you’ll have the unique opportunity to learn about the local agriculture, traditions, and medicinal plants from our knowledgeable guide and the alpaca owner. Each person will walk with their own alpaca, which will carry your personal items like water, sunscreen, and a sun hat. Along the way, you can even collect some leaves that we’ll later use in our private textile workshop to dye alpaca wool and cotton t-shirts (which we recommend bringing with you).
After our Alpaca Walking Tour, we’ll arrive at our private workshop, where you’ll be treated to a delicious pachamanca lunch, a traditional Peruvian dish. Following lunch, we’ll spend the afternoon dying alpaca wool and your own cloth with the leaves we collected earlier. At the end of the workshop, we’ll say goodbye to our crew with a traditional alpaca ceremony, a pre-Inca tradition that adds a special touch to this unique experience.
We’ll then transfer you back to your hotel in Cusco or the Sacred Valley, leaving you with unforgettable memories of our Alpaca Walking tour & Natural Dye Experience.
Our speciality is private tour, but we also have group tours but it will be only our agencies group, we don`t mix people from other companies.

- Bottle of water or CAMELBAK. double the regular dose of water you drink normally.
- Shoe with a good grip: If you have trekking shoe is much better

- Above all, a lot of desire to have fun, enjoy nature and learn about the local culture.
Altitude sickness
As soon as the people reserve the trip to Peru, specifically to Cusco, they begin to wonder about altitude sickness. High altitudes contains less oxygen than at sea level and forces your body to work harder to get the oxygen it needs.
In our rainbow mountain tour in the afternoon we will always have oxygen tank and first aid kit, our guides all well trained to assist you in case you have any altitude sympthom.
For farther information about altitude sickness please read our article HERE.
Weather
The weather in the Sacred Valley is unpredictable. Dry season in Cusco is from April through October, but this does not prevent the rain from falling in June or the sun coming out in December, just be prepared for any weather.
Make sure you have adequate clothing that includes a waterproof jacket, pants, poncho and waterproof gloves.
Arriving to Cusco
The best way to get to Cusco is by air and there are several airline options. LATAM tends to be the most expensive, but it has more flight options.
Expect flight delays or cancellations, due to the high altitude of Cusco, tends to be difficult to land so that on rainy days you can paralyze air traffic.
Travel insurance
To protect your travel investment, we recommend buying travel insurance. Getting travel insurance before leaving home is highly recommended and very easy.
There are many insurance companies depending on your country of origin and at different prices according to your time of stay, take some time to review them and hire the one that best suits you. However, this is an excellent way to protect yourself while visiting Peru.
